Basic research

Basic research is an experimental or theoretical work with the goal to achieve and/or broaden scientific knowledge about the base of phenomena and facts without the previous ambition to utilize the results in concrete products, services, etc.

Basic research is examining features, structures and connections to raise thesises, theories or to find and prove synergies. Basic research is not connected to industrial or commercial aims, but is willing to broaden the general scientific and technical knowledge. Basic research might be pure or targeted basic research.
