Medication for the Treatment of Anxiety

The product

Anxiofit Ltd. is a spin-off company from the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The anxiolytic medication developed by Anxiofit Ltd. is based on herbal extract. The product serves to treat everyday anxiety effectively and harmlessly without side effects. Anxiety is a problem affecting 20% of the population in the developed countries.

Development of the invention

ValDeal prepared the QuickLook Report™ which served as a tool to adopt a market strategy and to define the most successful directions and milestones of product development. As a first step in implementing the elaborated strategy, ValDeal organized consortium partners for Hungarian research and development grant.

Thanks to this grant, a food supplement product was developed which has already been introduced to the US market with the contribution of IC2 Institute.

The second milestone of this strategy was an over-the-counter drug having anti-anxiety effect – a factor guaranteeing success on the American market. The validation and the clinical studies of this prolonged effects multi-component formula are on progress. ValDeal provides continuous business consultancy since the beginning of its collaboration with Anxiofit Ltd., including several months’ interim management.

As third step, the invention is turned into drug development. After the second phase of human clinical studies, the license of the product may be sold to big pharmaceutical companies in 5-10 years’ time.
